Environmental Agencies Government

Have you ever wondered just what the government is doing to help the environment?  What kind of agencies have been set up by the government to take care of the environment, if any?  You would be surprised how many government environmental agencies there really are, but how do you find them?

A simple online search can yield thousands of results on government environmental agencies, but from there it’s still difficult to know what exactly these agencies do.  We know about the USDA and how it works to ensure the health of food products in our country.  You probably know how they work to make sure our foods don’t have unsafe levels of chemicals and by products in them, but did you know how many other environmental government agencies are out there?

The Environmental Protection Agency works to protect our environment from all different kinds of pollution and harmful wastes.  They focus individually on the air, water and land.  It is the job of the EPA to test waterways and land to ensure that there are no unsafe levels of toxins or to develop ways to clean up problem areas.  In addition to these things, it is the responsibility of the Environmental Protection Agency to check the disposal practices of factories to make sure that they operate within governmental guidelines.  A visit to the Environmental Protection Agency website will offer you a ton of resources on the environment and how to do your part in caring for the land, air and water around you.  They offer a listing of the most problematic environmental issues we’re facing right now and offers ideas for how you can help.

The US Fish and Wildlife Service works to protect wildlife and the environment.  They do things like establishing wildlife issues and protect the wetlands.  In addition to their efforts to protect, the US Fish and Wildlife Service also does extensive studies to ensure that all aspects of the wildlife in the United States is not only protected, but have a good chance to thrive.  They do things like study wildlife to make sure that the different animals in the wild aren’t suffering from anything that would cause their species to become endangered, or worse, extinct.  It is with their help that many species in the United States have been removed from the endangered list.

The Forest Service is a branch of the US Department of Agriculture.  The Forest Service is in charge of the parks and forests in the United States.  They are determined to take conservation to the next level and work very hard to ensure that all aspects of forests and parks are taken care of and allowed to be maintained in their free, natural state.

These are just a few examples of the Government’s Environmental Agencies that are out there.  These all have websites and offer links to information and even to the jobs that might be available in your area.
