Lists of Environmental Problems

When you hear about the environment and it’s problems, it’s hard to get a truly factual, unbiased list of what the most important environmental problems are right now.  Depending on your source, you’ll find lists of environmental problems including everything from bad soil to dying bees.  While these are important in the whole scheme of the environment, it’s hard to know what is the most pressing issue right now.  If you’re looking for comprehensive lists of environmental problems, it’s a good idea to make sure you’re dealing with a reputable source and not one who’s slanted entirely to their particular issue.

When you’re looking for lists of environmental problems, do some comparisons.  If you’re compiling your own list, average out the top three environmental issues that you find from most sources and use those top three for your list.  You can get as detailed as you want in your own list, but try to keep the ranking of each problem the same.  This is especially important if you’re compiling a list for a group or organization who is looking to do their part.  Often, when making lists of environmental problems for these types of groups, you can choose the top three and then offer suggestions on what the group can do to help the problem in their particular area.  This is a far more beneficial list than if you list off 20 or so environmental problems and leave the group with no ideas to use toward helping.

If you are compiling the list for yourself, say, for yourself, you can get as in depth as you want depending on your own needs.  Some people make lists of environmental problems for themselves, and then research things they can do on an individual level to help make an improvements they can do individually.  Often, people who do this will choose a couple of things on the list each year or six months and make a concentrated effort to focus on helping to fix those issues and then they move on.  If you are one of these people, then get as lengthy and detailed as you want in making your list of environmental problems.

The thing to remember if you’re just looking for some reference on the subject of environmental problems, is that not all the lists are going to be the same.  You can usually do an online search that will offer thousands of results, and that’s great, but you’ll probably have the most consistent results from governmental agencies.  Usually, in most countries, the top three environmental problems are air, water and wildlife, or safe garbage disposal.  Often, lots of problems can fall under all of these categories and doing something simple, like recycling can help to reduce all of the problems.

Just remember that before you start to try to encourage anyone else to help save the environment and prevent future problems, you have to be actively embracing the same lifestyle.  The way to make the biggest difference in anything of this magnitude is to start small, like with yourself and work from there.  Work on a couple of life changes monthly, so that you don’t get overwhelmed with the changes and you’ll be able to help others to do the same when the time comes.
