Good evening my fellow green people,
A few months ago an article caught my eye about organic meat and the benefits that such a small act on my part (buying only organic) can have on the environment. If you haven't read about the benefits, I'd like to go over a few now and hopefully you can make the change that I did at the market.
Organic meats are usually grown by farms that produce their meat with 70% less energy than non-organic farms.
Buying local meats will reduce the amount of energy used and pollution generated by transporting your food to the store.
Buying organic is better for your health in general.
Some farms will feed their animals ground up animal parts, which can lead to things like mad cow. Buying organic will ensure that they are being fed only organic feed.
I'd love to answer any questions!

Never thought of it that way.
But what if the organic stuff you're buying isn't local. Doesn't that kinda cancel each other out? lol
